David Menken, who specializes in information technology, privacy and data security at SBJ, today gave a seminar in data security awareness to the staff of a New York not-for-profit corporation which has access to private information of New York State residents.  All entities which have access to such information must give their employees general security training, to include recognizing and reporting insider threats, and must have a procedure in place to comply with New York’s Data Breach Notification laws.
